Well, today was another fun filled, exciting day on vacation. We went to Grandbury, Acton and Weatherford. We saw Jesse James grave (in Grandbury it is not believed that Garrett killed Jesse in 1882, he returned to Grandbury where he lived till he died, over 100 years of age). We saw the grave of Davey Crocketts wife and two of his children (in Acton). We heard a rumor (and bought a book) about John Wilkes Boothe and John St. Helen being the same person (it is assumed that he did not die in the burning tobacco shed in 1865, but came to Glen Rose and Grandbury and worked as a bartender until his death in 1876. Once again, learned a lot. In Weatherford we saw a really neat courthouse. took pictures. Oh, the most important part...I went to the Tourist Information Center in Grandbury and met Darlene McNeil, who gave me the directions and stuff about Jesse James, John Wilkes Boothe, Mrs. Davey Crockett and some stuff for my scrap book. Got her autograph, too.
